Baydreamer Hideaway

Baydreamer Hideaway is a unique property in an eco-friendly environment, more akin to a private resort, although we operate as a bed and breakfast. The property incorporates the owners residence with reception area and a separate guest accommodation building called the Hideaway, with adjoining pool, BBQ area and outdoor entertainment area. The Hideaway contains two guest rooms each with ensuite bathrooms, queen size beds and private TV. All linen is supplied. The pool area overlooks a classic Australian vista offering a sunrise you will not forget. The Rainforest Room is perfect for a romantic getaway. It opens onto the pool deck and overlooks the Mambo Reserve. The Boatshed Room also overlooks the Reserve and can be configured for up to 4 people as required. The Hideaway guest accommodation building incorporates a lounge area, log fire, dining area and a kitchenette for your convenience. All occupants of the Hideaway share these facilities. A third guest room, the Dolphin Room, with queen bed, ensuite, private TV and its own entrance is located in the main residence.

Location

The Baydreamer Hideaway is a pleasant 2 1/2 hour drive from Sydney CBD on the F3, and less than 45 minutes from Newcastle. From Sydney, take the F3 north and at the roundabout at the end of the freeway, follow signs for Hexham and Taree; cross the Hexham Bridge and take the first turn on your right (called Tomago Road or Hwy #122). Follow signs for Nelson Bay/Port Stephens (Hwy 122 becomes Nelson Bay Road) about 30 minutes.
Exit left off Nelson Bay Road at the roundabout to Salamander Bay & Salamander Shopping Centre. Continue through the next roundabout on Salamander Way and past the shopping centre on your right. About 1/2 a kilometre on, the Baydreamer Hideaway is the first property on your right. Alternatively, you might exit left off Nelson Bay Road, onto Port Stephens Drive, and after 5 kilometres, turn right at the roundabout into Salamander Way. Baydreamer Hideaway is #135 on your left hand side.

Local Attractions

The Baydreamer Hideaway is centrally located in Salamander Bay, convenient to all attractions in the Port Stephens area; dolphin or whale watching cruises, diving at Broughton Island, fishing, golf, bush walking, dining or shopping in Nelson Bay, or just lazing by the pool. Attractions like Horizons Golf Course, Toboggan Hill Park, Lucky Strike Bowling, Salamander Shopping Centre and the Salamander Tavern are all within walking distance. We are from 5 to 10 minutes drive from any of the 26 beaches of Port Stephens (Shoal Bay, Nelson Bay, Salamander Bay, Soldiers Point) or the ocean (Fingal Bay, Samurai Beach, One Mile Beach, Stockton Beach). The Baydreamer Hideaway is approximately 5 minutes drive from the town of Nelson Bay whith its large number of restaurants and the marina.
