Come and find out why Port Stephens is called Blue Water Wonderland. From the balconies of Taronga you have a 180 degree view of the ocean. Fingal Bay is the only patrolled surf beach in the area and it is minutes away (it takes me a tad longer if I am walking with a granddaughter). The beach has a surf area which is patrolled 365 days of the year and just a pleasant walk along the beach there is a quiet surf area for the littlies (see photo).
Shoal Bay, with its restaurants, hotel & clubs is 1 km away and Nelson Bay with its vast array of shops, great restaurants, etc is only a further 2km or 5 minutes in the car.
Also, 2 minutes away is an extensive bike track that allows you to safely ride to Nelson Bay and further. Just great for the kids or for you if you need the exercise. Bikes are available for hire at Shoal Bay. (see photo)
Access to the beach, park, children's play area & bike track is via a walkway directly in front of the townhouse.
Taronga has a large balcony with deck chairs where you can sit, soak up some sun, read, eat & drink with the wonderful view and the gentle sound of the surf before you.
Some of the activities available for you in the Port Stephens and generally only 5 minutes away area are:
* surfing,
* beach & deep sea fishing,
* scuba diving,
* kayaking,
* dolphin & whale watching,
* fine dining,
* family dining,
* championship golf courses - Horizons & Nelson Bay,
* local vineyards,
* 1 hour to the Hunter Valley wineries,
* horse riding,
* 4WD on sand dunes or long open beaches,
* bush-walking in the local national park,
* weekend markets - local products.
Brochures and contact details for all these activities I have collected and are in the townhouse for you.
A great website for you to check on all the local activities is the Port Stephens Tourist office.
Check out the image gallery on the opening page for more photos of the townhouse (main bedroom) and other photos of the area (beach areas).
The location is in a quiet cul-de-sac with very little traffic. If you have a boat I have parked my boat in the street directly in front for 10 years and never had a problem.
Behind the townhouse is Tomaree National Park. This makes the area very quiet.
The townhouse is 2 levels.
Downstairs is open plan with lounge, kitchen, dining/ family room, laundry, toilet & shower. The ceilings are high, the light good and the view is extensive. The balcony is very large and completely separated from the townhouse next door for privacy.
Upstairs is the main bedroom (queen), a bedroom with a double bunk, a bedroom with a double bed, and a three way bathroom. All the bedrooms have built in cupboards.
The townhouse is a duplex and the adjacent unit is owned by my best friend so there is the potential for you to book both townhouses and bring another family or extra friends. YOU would need to check on the availability of his unit with his Agent.
In case you forget we have books, magazines, DVDs & CDs for your use. If you haven't finished a book take it home with you.
There is a very reliable company with whom we deal if you require linen hire at a reasonable rate.
